Hello, my name is Curtis Dean Harrier, and this is my story:

After attending high school, I decided to enroll in a professional acting school. There, I was coached by one of the top acting coaches in the US. For seven years I felt the struggles of the highs and lows of the acting world. Little did I know of how much acting was a business as much as an art. Living audition to audition, hoping this would be the one to give me the big break and paycheck. Well the big break didn’t come, and the paychecks never seemed to be high enough. Although I was establishing great connections and had the opportunities to work with some high-profile actors, something was missing. I was living week to week, my relationship with my girlfriend at the time was just as volatile as my acting career. To the point of her punching me in the face and almost running me over with her car. I was beginning to think my life should have been a drama movie.

I was completely un-empowered in most all areas of my life and had no idea of what my priorities or values actually were. As time went on, I was still living week to week and my next relationship didn’t seem to be any better. From being dumped in the middle of the desert at burning man, to living together while broken up and her sleeping with a co-worker of mine while in Brazil, on a free vacation that I helped win, my life was more than stressful. So, I decided to move to New York from LA. I let go of my apartment, put some belongings at my parents’ house and shipped everything else I wanted in my car to New York. But before I went my ex asked one thing of me. She asked me to read a book that the co-worker of mine she slept with told her to read, called “How to Make One Hell of a Profit and Still Get to Heaven.”

For four months I lived in an old, beat up dirty cabin and slept on a twin bed with a mattress that had must of been as old as me. For those next four months all I did was read the book, workout, and go to work. In the next four months my life had drastically transformed, I had made more money than I have ever made in my life, started a savings plan, and enrolled in a private research institute of advanced studies that would transform my life. And that transformation is what brought me my life’s mission and is why I have a message that I want to share with you. Because it’s not where we come from, it’s where we decide to go.

As a former actor, I had a great deal of exposure to the tv and movie industry. One thing I noticed within the industry was that many of the starving actors lived with a great deal of volatility, frustration and periodic un-fulfillment like I experienced. While some of the truly great and successful actors where more authentic, engaged, highly productive and truly loved their work. There were many new actors who wore masks and had facades, hiding their true authenticity. This added to their struggle.  This observation lead me to want to discover the keys to living an authentic, engaged and fulfilled life more than being an actor. I have been fortunate enough to be able to help many people now live more fulfilling, inspired and authentic lives. As my life has become.
